Camp NaNoWriMo: The July Edition

You thought NaNoWriMo was just for November? Cue maniacal laughter.

If you thought that, same. But, when I was prepping to do my revisions for Just Us, as mentioned in last week’s post, I, as if through prophecy, received an email from NaNoWriMo advertising July’s Camp NaNoWriMo.

What is Camp NaNoWriMo? Well, much like regular NaNoWriMo, it’s a challenge to work on a creative writing project. Unlike regular NaNoWriMo, the challenge isn’t as limited. 50,000 words aren’t required; it’s rather just a challenge to get out there and write. I thought this was the perfect opportunity for me to work on Just Us and aim to have the revisions done in a month’s time. I’m not sure how many more words I want, and 50,000 certainly seems a hefty goal. I’ll probably try to get 25,000 at the minimum, and if I go over, I go over.

But, much as I did with NaNoWriMo last November, I’ll be having July be a focus on my revisions. so I’m excited to share what’s new and my reflections on writing and reading throughout July!
